52/68: Mild
Mar. 25th, 2025 09:24 amI haven't been paying much attention to the balmy days. The most noticeable effect for me has been the absence of the furnace fan. That should continue today and maybe tomorrow. Today the high is supposed to be an alarming 85. I'll notice it when I go out to the mailbox. Tomorrow is supposed to be only 74, and Thursday only 62, with showers. The next two weeks should be about typically early-spring-like for the area, cool and occasionally damp, which will be nice. But I'm not expecting to be especially attentive to it. Attentiveness, I fear, is mostly in my past.
Monday I skipped dinner again, and slept a lot again, and I'm currently thinking I might fix last night's dinner for lunch today, though if I continue to dawdle it could end up as tonight's dinner instead. Or, if I fall out of my chair, which continues to attempt rolling out from under me each time I try to adjust my position in it, it might get incinerated in the oven while I am unconscious and burn the apartment down, which could reduce the chances that my heirs will get my cleaning deposit back from the landlord. But at least the fire alarm would bring about the discovery of my corpse, so it wouldn't lie here and rot for days on end.
And there I go getting distracted again. I might need a nap before I cook, so dinner instead of lunch. And if no lunch then a naptime snack. A snack with beer, of course. Ooh, the first balmy afternoon beer of the year! That will turn a dull day into a celebration. And the window is open for bird songs. Springy for sure.
