52/80: Naptime
Apr. 7th, 2025 07:06 amAn unexpected rain fell late Sunday evening. It only lasted about twenty minutes, but was quite intense at its peak. The plants will benefit from it, and I enjoyed listening to it. But I forgot to open the window and sniff the damp air, which is one of the best parts of spring rain. I don't recall seeing this rain in the forecast, so maybe there will be another at some time, even though there is still no rain in the forecast. In fact there is quite a bit of sunshine and some fairly impressive heat due. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are to get highs in the eighties, and more of the same will arrive later in the month. I expect pollen counts will be rising as well, so my allergies could kick in in a big way soon.
Right now I'm going to be heading back to bed, since I fixed and ate last night's dinner about dawn, since Sunday's afternoon nap extended until ten o'clock at night, and I've been awake since then. That's quite long enough for me to be awake anymore. It's still a bit overcast right now, but I expect I'll wake to a sunny, balmy afternoon. Maybe tonight my dinner will be ready by midnight. But I'm not counting on it.
