So out of touch with time's passage have I become that I was sure I hadn't updated for at least four days, but it turns out to be only two. It felt like time was just rushing by, and instead it dragged. I will blame the nice weather. The apartment has gotten chilly at night, but I have not yet fired up the furnace, which is good. The next six days are predicted to be downright balmy, with merely cool nights, but after that it gets chilly for the rest of the month, with a decent chance of showers this coming weekend. I'll enjoy the Indian summer as much as I can, and accept the arrival of real autumn with what grace I may. Indian summer is so much more enjoyable than actual summer that I'm really quite pleased with the way October is turning out.

I don't remember anything about Thursday, except that it somehow got devoured, but Friday afternoon I actually got something done. My bedding has been dismantling itself, making sleep more uncomfortable than usual, and today I ended up reassembling it. It would have been better had I taken it entirely apart for laundering and dug out fresh bedding to remake it, but that task remains beyond me. The mere reassembly I did this time was utterly exhausting, even having been broken into a series of tasks lasting only a few minutes each (have I mentioned that aging bites the biggest of weenies? I have? Okay, just so everybody knows.) I hope that my next sleep will be improved, and that the bedding will not disassemble itself so quickly this time.

Oh, and my nephew forgot to unload one item from my shopping last Friday, so my niece brought it by tonight, and as she was going to trader Joe's anyway I had her pick up a couple of heads of garlic for me. I have never gotten around to calling Safeway to tell them they didn't pack the garlic I bought last week, and now it's going to be a weekend again and they will not be answering calls until next Monday, but I'm thinking it's been too long already so I'm just going to forget about it. They made an extra buck from me, and not for the first (or probably last) time, but dwelling on this shit is tiresome, and I'd probably forget to call for another week anyway. And now I've got garlic anyway, and they lost that sale, so HAH! Eat my shorts, Safeway! (But please have some decent sale items next week.)

Drat, I'm falling asleep at the computer again. I guess I'll skip dinner, which I forgot to make. I was going to bake a potato. I'll just leave it sitting next to the computer so I won't forget it tomorrow, and have it for lunch. Tonight a handful of crackers will have to do. Stupid old guys, huh?
