I got a bit of what I wanted. There was just a small amount of rain yesterday-- not enough to make the reservoirs noticeably fuller, but enough to dampen the ground, and cover the prematurely blooming flowers with beads of bright water. The streets were shiny when I went for an afternoon walk, and the sun peeked out from the clouds now and then. The sunset turned the clouds delightful shades of rose and lilac. Now, the temperature is falling rapidly. I'm afraid this is the end of the irises that have bloomed along the fence, and many other plants that were fooled into thinking spring had arrived. But it's better to have a few plants lost now than to have all of them lost later, as would have happened had the cold weather not returned when it did.

Besides, we need some snow farther up in the mountains. And, if it means fuller lakes, I'm willing to tolerate some snow even here at my elevation. In fact, I'd welcome a bit of snow followed by a sunny afternoon such as we had today. In all the time I've been here, I've never gotten any pictures of snow in bright sunlight, and some nice background clouds. Well, if winter is truly back, maybe I'll get a chance. These few warm days have improved my mood considerably, and I think I'd be able to get through some harsh weather quite well, now. I know that the real spring isn't that far off. Let winter finish with a spectacle!

cheap, but also degrading.

You're worth more than that. You should pamper more.

Sounds like the right thing to do. You should consult your spiritual guide first however.
