I got some tidying done last night, and a couple of loads of laundry. I was irritated to find upon folding it that the gnomes have taken another of my socks. Why do the gnomes never take the old, threadbare socks? It's always the nice, new socks they steal. Stupid gnomes.

After a clear evening and a glimpse of stars, the clouds began regathering. By the time the moon rose, it was swathed in cottonwool, and soon vanished altogether. Now, the birds are chirping to greet a gray day, and an acorn woodpecker is busily trying to bring down the telephone pole in front of my house. I'm awake way too late again. Wait. It's Tuesday? Rats! I have to put the trash out.

I hear that sock gnomes will sometimes build nests behind the dryer. They might have hidden your sock there.
