I have the loan of a telescope for looking at Mars. Now, if I can figure out how to work the thing! It's too late to set it up for tonight, since you have to acquire a land-based target before looking at the sky. After dark, nothing can be seen around here. Tomorrow, I'll try to focus it on the tops of the pine trees beyond the orchard. (The target has to be at least 200 yards distant, and those trees are the only thing visible from my yard that are both close enough, and far enough away.) This could be interesting. If it goes well, I ought to be getting a good view of Mars tomorrow night. It will still be warm and clear, and the sliver of moon will be absent until near dawn. A nice dark sky. Cosmic fun!
