Stargazing?

My neighbor across the street has set up a good-sized telescope in his front yard tonight. I wonder what he is expecting to see? I guess I'll just have to wait until he starts looking, and ask him. Whatever it is, it would have to be pretty high above the horizon to be seen from this street. The trees make using a telescope somewhat difficult here.
