Little Buggers
Oct. 31st, 2001 05:24 pmThere may or may not be kids coming to the door tonight. One never knows in this town. There are only two kids who live on this block, and a handful more in the surrounding neighborhood. Some years, there will be an influx from other neighborhoods, and some years nobody shows up at all. Most people on this block don't even bother with Halloween anymore. But in the area to the east, there are more kids and many houses have been decorated for days now. That may prove to be enough of an attraction to keep this block quiet.
In any case, it is going to be rather chilly tonight. It always is, after a cold front passes through. But the clouds today were absolutely stunning- a mixture of big white cumulus and feathery cirrus, reflected in the pools of rainwater which have collected in the fields. I always enjoy the first clear day after an autumn rainstorm.
