rejectomorphI just want to say that Mozilla's Thunderbird is the most idiotic e-mail program I've ever used. I finally added my third identity to the program, and it is fetching the mail for that identity, but the mail doesn't show up in the universal inbox. I have to go through several steps to find it. I've looked everywhere for the place to change the settings so that the mail will land where that for the other two identities does, but I can't find it among the Byzantine, arcane, geek-centric mass of the program. Outlook Express was never this annoying. Mozilla has made an application that is inferior to something made by Microsoft! That puts them in the unenviable position of being the schoolyard-bully-wannabe who just got his ass kicked by the school wimp. Congratulations, Bill. You've got Mozilla nose blood on your fist!
Of course, that doesn't mean I'm going back to Outlook. Opera's very nicely integrated e-mail client is working just fine. I'll probably uninstall Thunderbird and make Opera my default e-mail application. I'm already using Firefox merely as a backup browser for fetching a few image files from a few sites where Opera misreads them as HTML files, and for visiting sites that have a lot of ads, which only Firefox gets rid of. If Thunderbird had worked better, I might have made Firefox the default browser, but I want my browser and e-mail to work well together, and I want my e-mail application to just plain work without making me jump through invisible hoops.

If you get plain text LJ comment notifications, you will be able to see an example in this e-mail of how the HTML code is set up. (If you get HTML e-mails, you'll only see the picture itself, and not the code.) I have a paid LJ account, so I use LJ's own image hosting service to host this picture. Since you have the free LJ account, you'll need to have the image hosted somewhere else on the Internet. If you don't have a hosting site, you can sign up for a free account at a hosting site such as Photobucket.
