Too hot to be sitting in front of a computer. This is one reason people buy laptops, I suppose. You can take them outdoors when its hot.

After the house cools off, I'm going to take some time to read the Public Knowledge paper on Principles for an Open Broadband Future. (via jdlasicadarknet)

The importance of warm and shallow water in forming water spouts would certainly prevent California from getting many of them. The continental shelf is very narrow here, and the California Current is surprisingly cold. I think it averages about twenty degrees lower than the Gulf Stream.

Sorry about that. I didn't realise I was putting a resource guide on waterspouts in your journal!

Spouts really aren't too dangerous.. you can usually see them coming form a good distance away (water being flat, and all)
