It seems as though everybody in town has decided to light their wood stoves and fireplaces today, and it isn't even very cold yet. I guess they are feeling romantic. Romance really stinks.

A fireplace is nice, but you have to be very careful what kind of wood you use. For some reason, a lot of people in this town use wood that is a bit rotty. I think they gather it themselves. The stench is vile. I wish we could get eucalyptus around here, but it doesn't grow well this far north. Eucalyptus can be quite pleasantly aromatic.
