At last a day brought the definite feel of spring. The gentled clouds were bright, only darkening toward sunset, when they provided a brooding backdrop for the bright tops of the ponderosas sparkling with the suns last rays. All the lawns are now deep green, and all afternoon the birds flocked to them, hopping and pecking in the nearly-balmy air. My windows were wide open for the first time in weeks. Now, the moon is rising and illuminating the swaths of thin clouds. I was barely able to tear myself away from the afternoon. I will not be able to tear myself away from this night.
