When I was about to take the trash can out to the street last night, I found that a black widow spider had woven its web inside and around the handle. This has happened before. I suppose that the spiders know that various tasty flying bugs will be attracted by the smell of the trash, so the handle would be a good place to catch them. It would be like Bug King for spiders. Not for that spider, though. I squashed her. No way am I carrying a trash can with a black widow on it.
All the plants are hurrying to make up for the delay of spring. The leaves are sprouting all over the mulberry tree, and the blossoms are dropping fast. If that hurries the pollen season along, and brings the shade sooner, I'm all for it.
Another hot day on the way. It looks as though we'll be getting 80 degree highs all week. Oh, I miss the gray and rainy days already.
