Open Windows!

rejectomorphIt was warm enough today to open the windows and let in some crisp fresh air. (i know, some people will open the windows even when it is freezing outside, but I don't like the house to get that cold.) It was nice not to have the heating on for a while.
Everyone in the neighborhood seemed to be taking advantage of the dry and relatively warm day to catch up on their yard work. Lawn mowers and leaf blowers (abomination!) were running everywhere. I still prefer the old-fashioned rake to the leaf blower (abomination!) I like the scraping sound it makes, and the flutter of the leaves as they are pushed along. One of my favorite autumn sounds. And the freshly raked leaves smell much better than the fumes from a leaf blower (abomination!)
