As a rule, I'm not fond of zoos. It is disturbing to see animals, especially large ones, confined to small spaces. But, as zoos go, the San Diego Zoological Society certainly operates one of the best. They also have one of the best web sites around. I was in California for New Year's last year and got to check out the zoo, which was awesome. Someday I'd like to go back and go on a ride through their Wild Animal Park.
