As a rule, I'm not fond of zoos. It is disturbing to see animals, especially large ones, confined to small spaces. But, as zoos go, the San Diego Zoological Society certainly operates one of the best. They also have one of the best web sites around. (What is it about San Diego that has led to the creation of so many excellent local web sites?) Be sure to check out their Conservation Page.
