Some heat-loving bird is sounding happy. I'm squinting at the glare coming off the street the other side of the mulberry tree. Even the green light filling the tree itself is almost painful to behold. Yesterday, there were periods of almost an hour when I felt almost normal. Today the vengeful headache has returned and woke me too early. Maybe I'll feel better after dinner. For now, I can't sit here for more than a couple of minutes. A small insect is hovering in place just outside my window, its translucent wings fluttering so fast they must be generating incredible heat. Land, foolish bug! The air is already too hot!
