Dull

The days turn much alike now, summer's decline a monotony through which I doze. I'm feeling a bit numbed here and there, and my brain is dusty like the arid ground. I folded up the bed today, turning it to couch form for the first time in days. This was not a sign of progress, but only a rebellion against the monotony. I missed the afternoon nap I might have had. It was nice to have larger floor for a few hours, but I probably won't be doing this again for a while. I need that spacious place for fitful sleep. I'm not feeling optimistic these days. I think I need dreams.
