Groceries are all ordered and pickup arranged, but it was hellish dealing with that store's web site. They have been "improving" it, and so far have managed to improve it into a complete pig's breakfast. It was showing me the wrong prices, failing to recognize coupons, all sorts of stressful, annoying shit. I think I'll be shopping at Safeway for the next couple of months, as I have no desire to go through that crap again. If they get their act together I'll go back, but if they don't do it by January I think they'll have permanently lost me as a customer. Of course I might be dead by then anyway, which will probably be less annoying that Raley's new web site.
We've been getting showers off and on since Sunday evening, but at the moment there is bright sunshine leaking through the clouds. I'm sort of pleased as it means there won't be any hassle with the grocery pickup, but also disappointed as I was looking forward to some rain. On the other hand, this is the sort of partly cloudy day on which we are most likely to get sun showers, which would be nice. We haven't had any sun showers in quite some time. Haven't had many showers of any kind, in fact.
Someone mentioned Duran Duran Appreciation Day, which was last August so I missed it, but the fact is I always appreciate Duran Duran, so here is my favorite of their many excellent songs, Ordinary World, which Simon Le Bon wrote in memory of a close friend who ha died tragically in 1986, seven years before the song came out. Some events stick in your mind a long time.
