Whatever I want to do anymore seems to get delayed because I find I need a nap. I need one right now, just when I want to write a journal entry. Earlier, Thursday's dinner got delayed by another nap. The rheumatism-like pain in my right shoulder Thursday morning has gone, replaced by periodic sharp pains across my midsection. It feels like muscles acting up rather than anything internal, and it's not constant, but just so I won't be without something annoying all the time my right foot has taken to itching almost constantly. I probably should have soaked it, but never got around to it. I'd do it now, but, you know, nap.
But first, I want to post some music that I've ben using to cheer myself up. It's a calypso piece from the 1930s by composer and bandleader Lionel Belasco, who was the original composer of the tune that eventually became "Rum and Coca Cola" in the 1940s and was plagiarized by comedian Morey Amsterdam. I've only just found out about this. My mom always disliked Morey Amsterdam, though she could never say exactly why. I guess it was instinct. Anyway, this is a later Belasco piece called "Juliana" which (as far as I know) never got stolen by a comedian. It is remarkably cheerful music, which is why I've been looping it tonight.
