Reset Forty-Nine, Day Four Hundred-Ten

It will come as no surprise that the plumbers were here all day Tuesday and are still not finished. I actually fell asleep while they were here, but it didn't interfere with their work, as they just kept coming and going, and I finally woke up about seven o'clock, a couple of hours after they'd gone. My niece is tentatively planning to take me to the bank this afternoon, sometime after three, so I hope the plumbing is done before then and maybe I can get a shower. But it will come as no surprise if it isn't.

It's hot of course, and getting hotter. It' going up to 109 today, from an overnight low of 75, while Thursday and Friday will have highs of 112 with overnight lows of 77. The closest thing to relief in the forecast is next Monday, which will have a high of 99 (mere double digits!) and a low of 66 (inverted symmetry!) My journal entries are full of typos, because it's too hot for me to concentrate long enough to find and fix them.

Some of the plants in the back yard have leaves withering. I haven't been going out to water them. I need to do that. This year is being a slow catastrophe. I hate heat and I hate chaos and I got nothing but. Plus my browser is still fighting with YouTube, so no music.
