Reset Fifty, Day Fifty-Six
Sep. 6th, 2024 08:16 amIt seemed like Friday would never get here this week, but now that it's here it's like where the hell did the rest of the week go?. The days drag by and the weeks vanish in a flash. Well, at least the weeks are gradually taking the damned summer with them, though it is dragging like a day. The local heat advisory ends today, but Saturday is still going to hit 100 degrees. The rain predictions keep getting pushed away, and now there are none for the next two weeks. This has me sad and morose.
Thursday's dinner finally got fixed, though I don't recall exactly when. All I know is the stuff is gone and I have a vague memory of actually eating it. It probably accounts for my indigestion, as I don't think my stomach has yet gotten to the point where it is actually digesting itself. I got an ad with discount coupons for pizza in the mail Thursday, and laughed myself silly and then cried. Pizza, yeah. That's gone forever. I've still got two slices of French bread pizza in my freezer, which I will enjoy until it makes me miserable, sometime when oven weather returns. There are a couple of frozen lasagnas, too, from which I expect similar consequences. Have I mentioned that I strongly disapprove of the results of aging? Well I do.
There's no clue what hours I'll sleep today, but I'm sure there will be some. I just can't stay awake for very long anymore. There's not much to stay awake for around here anyway. It's probably just as well, since I'd have no energy to do anything there was worth doing. See how things just take care of themselves? What a lucky old cuss I am!
