Lately, I find myself liking beer less than I used to. I've never drunk a great deal of it at one sitting, except for a couple of unpleasantly memorable occasions, but I have drunk it fairly regularly with dinner, and sometimes lunch, and once in a while with late night snacks, since I was about 18 or 19. That's a lot of beer. A few weeks ago, I made some popcorn, and grabbed a bottle of porter from the refrigerator, and suddenly thought no, that's not what I want, even though that usually is what I want. I ended up drinking carrot juice, instead. Since then, this has happened several times. I drink apple cider or carrot juice or something else when I would once have had beer. Tonight, when I was pouring a bottle of Sierra Nevada at dinner, I thought a glass of red wine would be nice for a change. Hmmm. Is there something like beeropause?
