Confusions

The mild evening is full of crickets chirping. I haven't noticed them recently, but don't know if they've been silent or if I've just not been paying attention. Vernal lethargy has left me dazed, so I'm out of touch with what's been going on. I'm not even sure which planet I'm seeing shine in the west each evening. Is that Venus back again already, or has Jupiter sneaked up on me? The crickets aren't saying.
